Brett Dennen

I get quite a few emails asking for me to listen to bands/artists and/or post about them - I always listen to the songs, visit the site etc., and the vast majority of the time I think they are either unsuitable (the poster hasn't actually realised what sort of music I like) or overexposed in the relatively small world of mp3blogs - cf. Bullette.

I had an email about Brett Dennen the other day asking if I'd post it on lastsound, I replied that it wasn't really the sort of thing that makes the blog, and suggested he try uncommon folk (btw. consistantly brilliant), and come others.

I've played the song quite a few times since then, and have come to the conclusion that it is better placed here on lonesome. It's a mellow, reflective acoustic number with some fantastic Van Morrison/Astral Weeks verbal diarrhea as the lyrics spills out across a subtle swing in a big yellow taxi kind of way, in fact Joni isn't such a long stretch of the imagination. As always comments welcome.
